Aceros AZA incorporates efficient and sustainable technology with the start-up of a second biodigester for the transformation of organic waste.
From the recovery of organic waste at its Renca plant in the Metropolitan Region of Santiago, Chile, high quality compost is generated by the biodigester, which will be used to fertilize green spaces and will be given to employees as a natural fertilizer for their gardens.
This project was carried out in collaboration with strategic allies for its installation and start-up, and is part of the commitment assumed in 2021 by Aceros AZA, which not only focuses on the company’s main production process, but also on the valorization of secondary processes.
This project represents a concrete step forward in the company’s circular economy strategy, and the commitment of the Latin American steel industry on the road to more efficient processes and cleaner technologies.
