At the Alacero Summit 2025, Máximo Vedoya, CEO of Ternium, was announced as the new President of Alacero for the 2026-2027 term, replacing Jorge Luiz Ribeiro de Oliveira (ArcelorMittal Brazil).
Following his appointment, Vedoya thanked the association’s members for their trust. “I would like to thank all the members for electing me. I would also like to thank Jorge for his leadership and for the impetus he gave to the association in the face of the common challenges facing the entire industry,” he said.
The new president highlighted that governments in the region are beginning to recognize the magnitude of the challenges facing the industry. “Our view is that governments, to a greater or lesser extent, are beginning to understand this major issue and are coming to realize the importance of the industry in generating value, good jobs, and growth for a country.”
Finally, he reaffirmed the association’s role in the region’s industrial agenda: “At Alacero, we will continue to work, highlighting the issue and seeking solutions so that the industry adds value and strengthens itself in Latin America.”
